CGPSC Examination Pattern CGPSC stands for Chhattisgarh Public Service Commission, which is a state-level government organization responsible for conducting various competitive examinations in the state of Chhattisgarh, India. The CGPSC exam is conducted for the recruitment of various positions such as Deputy Collector, Deputy Superintendent of Police, Commercial Tax Officer, Block Development Officer, and many more. The exam is conducted in three stages:
The syllabus for the CGPSC exam generally covers topics related to Indian polity, history, economy, geography, environment, science and technology, current affairs, and general knowledge. The level of questions asked in the exam is generally of graduation level. To prepare for the CGPSC exam, candidates should start by understanding the exam pattern and syllabus. They should then create a study plan and devote sufficient time to each subject. Candidates should also practice previous years' question papers and take mock tests to assess their preparation and identify areas of improvement. Preliminary Examination – (Objective Type)In the Preliminary Examinations there will be 2 compulsory papers of 02 hours duration each. Both the question papers willhave objective type multiple choice questions. There will be five choices of answers for each question out of which one is to be selected.There will be negative marking for wrong answer. First Question Paper: General Studies (Question 100, Marks 200, Duration 2.00 Hours).02 marks will be awarded for each right answer and 01 mark will be deducted for each wrong answer.Marks obtained=2R-W (where R stands for number of right answers and W stands for number of wrong answers.). Negative Marking : 1/3 Second Question Paper: Aptitude Test (Question 100, Marks 200, Duration 2.00 Hours) 02 marks will be awarded for each right answer and 01 mark will be deducted for each wrong answer.Marks obtained=2R-W (where R stands for number of right answers and W stands for number of wrong answers.). Second Paper is qualifying Minimum Qualifying Marks: In each Question paper essential qualifying marks for unreserved category will be 33%,and 23% for reserved categories and handicapped candidates. Syllabus includes: Interpersonal skills including communication skills;Logical reasoning and analytical ability Decision making and problem solving General mental ability Basic numeracy (numbers and their relations, orders of magnitude etc.) (Class X level), Data interpretation (charts, graphs, tables, data sufficiency etc. -Class X level) Knowledge of Hindi Language (Class X level). Knowledge of Chhattisgarhi Language. Knowledge of Hindi Language and Chhattisgarhi Language will be tested in Hindi and Chhattisgarhi Language only, without providing translation. CGPSC Mains Exam (Revised) Pattern in HindiCGPSC Mains Exam (Revised) Pattern Question papers for Main Examination will be of Conventional nature i.e.: Short/Medium/Long answers Type Candidates shortlisted for the Main Examination on the basis of Preliminary Examination (Screening Test) must appear for all the seven papers in Main Examination. Candidates selected for the Interview on the basis of Main Examination must appear in the Interview. Absence in any paper of Main Examination and Interview will be liable for disqualification. AII the question papers except first -'Language' may be answered in Hindi or English chosen by the candidates. However a candidate will not be permitted to write part of the paper in Hindi and part of it irr English Paper II - Essay : There will be two sections in this paper-l. International and National level Issues 2. Chhattisgarh State Issues.The Candidates will be given four options in each section and will have to write on two options from each section, the problem- solution (reason, present status including data and solution) Paper 03 to 07 will contain the question as given below:- Section 01- In this section there will be 22 compulsory questions from various parts of the syllabus of the paper concerned. Each question will carry 02 marks. Thus the maximum marks in this section will be 44. (Word limit for answer of each question - about 30) Section 02-In this section there will be 13 compulsory questions from various parts of the syllabus of the paper concerned. Each question will carry 04 marks. Thus the maximum marks in this section will be 52. (Word limit for answer of each question - about 60) Section 03- In this section there will be 0B compulsory questions from various parts of the syllabus of the paper concerned. Each question will carry 08 marks. Thus the maximum marks in this section will be 64. (Word limit for answer of each question - about 100) Section 04- In this section total 02 questions will be given from part- 0z of the syllabus of the paper concerned. Out of which 01 question will have to be solved. The question will carry 10 marks. Thus the maximum marks in this section will be 10.
