The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) conducts various competitive exams in India for recruitment to different posts in the government. The most prominent among these exams is the Civil Services Examination (CSE) which is conducted annually.

The CSE consists of three stages - a preliminary exam, a main exam, and a personality test. The preliminary exam is an objective type test with multiple-choice questions, while the main exam is a descriptive test. The personality test is an interview conducted to assess the candidate's suitability for the job.

The CSE is considered one of the toughest competitive exams in the country, as it covers a vast syllabus and requires extensive preparation. The syllabus includes subjects like Indian history, geography, economics, polity, science, and technology, as well as current affairs and general knowledge.

Apart from the CSE, the UPSC also conducts other exams like the Indian Forest Service (IFS) Examination, Engineering Services Examination (ESE), Combined Defence Services (CDS) Examination, National Defence Academy (NDA) Examination, CISF AC (EXE) LDCE Exam and many more.

Clearing the UPSC exams can lead to a career in various prestigious services like the Indian Administrative Service (IAS), Indian Police Service (IPS), Indian Foreign Service (IFS), and other central services. These services offer challenging roles and responsibilities in the administration of the country.
