Chhattisgarh Judicial Services Exam 2024

Chhattisgarh Public Service Commission (CGPSC) has started the online application process for recruitment to the post of Civil Judge 2023. All eligible candidates can apply for the posts on the official website psc.cg.gov.in till June 24. The applicants will be able to make changes to their application forms on June 25 and 26.

The CGPSC recruitment drive aims to fill up a total of 49 vacancies for Civil Judges.

Eligibility Criteria

Age Limit: 21 years to 35 years as on January 1, 2024.

Educational Qualification: Bachelor’s Degree in Law from a recognized University.

CGPSC Civil Judge Syllabus for Mains Examination

The Framing of Issues and writing of Judgement in civil Cases.
The Framing of Charges and writing of Judgement in Criminal Cases.
Translation: English to Hindi and Hindi to English.

Viva-Voce – Personal Interview – 15 Marks

The Viva voce will be a personal interview for candidates shortlisted on the basis of their Main Exam scores. The final selection for 2022 and 2023 will be on merit on the basis of total marks obtained in the written (Main) Examination and Viva-voce.

Chhattisgarh Higher Judicial Service Examination Syllabus

It is a two stage selection process comprising written examination carrying 200 marks and viva- voce carrying 30 marks.

The written examination for recruitment of District Judges shall consist of two papers: -

Paper - I : Law (Maximum marks – 100)

(a) The Code of Civil Procedure, 1908  (Maximum marks – 25)
(b) The Code of Criminal Procedure, 1973 (Maximum marks – 25)
(c) The Indian Evidence Act, 1872 (Maximum marks – 25)
(d) Principles of pleading and the Constitution of India (Maximum marks – 25)

Paper – II: Law (Maximum Marks – 100)

(a) Framing of Issues and writing of Judgment in Civil Cases (Maximum Marks – 40)
(b) Framing of charges and writing of Judgment in Criminal Cases (Maximum Marks – 40)
(c) Translation (Maximum Marks – 20)

English to Hindi – 10 marks

Hindi to English – 10 Marks

Interview (Viva voce): Viva- voce shall carry 30 marks.
