OPSC Forest Ranger Exam Pattern

The selection process for the post of Forest Ranger under the Odisha Public Service Commission is carried out in three phases. The first round is a written exam followed by a Physical Test and an Interview. The exam pattern for all the rounds is shared in detail in the tables below.

Candidates who wish to apply for the post of Forest Ranger are advised to stay connected to this page. Also, candidates preparing for Assistant Conservator of Forests can follow this post as the exam pattern and syllabus are the same.

Exam Pattern- Written

The detailed exam pattern for both the posts is as follows:

OPSC Forest Ranger 2022 Exam Syllabus

The candidates who will be applying for the posts of Forestry Ranger service and Assistant Conservator of Forest should attend rounds of a written test, a physical exam, and an interview. The details of which are mentioned below:

  • Written Exam: The candidates should clear this round with qualifying marks to attend the Physical Test.
  • Physical Test: The candidates who clear the written examination will undergo a Physical Test.  
  • Viva Voce: The shortlisted candidates in the physical test will be called for the Viva Voce round. The final list of selected candidates will be declared after this round.

For the optional subjects, the list of available subjects is listed below. Candidates have to choose any two subjects from the list. The list is shared in the table below for the candidate’s reference. The detailed topic-wise syllabus is shared in the table. The final selection of the posts mentioned above is based on all the rounds. Refer to the preparation tips and reference books listed below.
