AMET Entrance Exam Study Notes

Academy of Maritime Education and Training has released the AMET 2022 application form at ametuniversity.com. Candidates seeking admission can apply in online or offline mode for the admissions. The authorities conduct the AMET admission test for admission into the undergraduate engineering programme. AMET 2022 exam at outstation centre will be conducted on July 23 while for AMET campus exam will be conducted on July 30. Students seeking admission in B.Tech courses at the institute need to fill the application form and qualify the AMET entrance exam, interview and medical test. Admissions into M.B.A programme has a provision for direct admission for candidates who have qualified CAT, MAT, XAT, ATMA, JMET, or TANCET.

Registered candidates will be able to download the admit card of AMET 2022 from the official website. The AMET admit card 2022 will contain details like the date and time of the exam, allotted centre, candidate’s information etc.. The AMET 2022 entrance exam will be conducted in online mode at an all-India level across more than 20 centres. Questions of the exam will be of objective type. The syllabus of the test varies depending on the programme the candidate had opted for admission. Shortlisted students will be called for the counselling and seat allotment process.

AMET Entrance Exam 2022 Eligibility Criteria

AMET Entrance Exam B.E Eligibility Criteria

The authorities will release the AMET eligibility criteria 2022 at the official website. The eligibility criteria of AMET 2022 is an aggregate of conditions that a candidate has to meet to be considered for admission to a specific academic programme offered by the institute. Considering Academy of Maritime Education and Training (AMET) offers a wide range of courses, including B.E/B.Tech, M.Tech, and MBA programmes, the eligibility criteria also differ accordingly. Given in the table below are the AMET eligibility criteria for admission to B.E/B.Tech programmes.

B.E Naval Architecture and Offshore Engineering


The candidate needs to have passed 10+2 or an equivalent exam with minimum 50% aggregate marks in Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics. 5% relaxation applies to SC, ST and OBC- NCL candidates.

B.E Petroleum Engineering

The candidate must have passed 10+2 with Physics, Chemistry, Maths or Biology with minimum 50% aggregate marks.


SC, ST and OBC-NCL candidates need 45% marks only.

B.E. Mechanical Engineering

The candidate needs to have passed 10+2 or an equivalent exam with minimum 50% aggregate marks in Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics. 5% relaxation applies to SC, ST and OBC- NCL candidates.


The candidate also needs to have scored minimum 50% marks in English in 10 or 10+2.

B.E. Electrical Electronics Engineering

The candidate must have passed 10+2 or an equivalent exam with minimum 50% aggregate marks in Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics. SC, ST and OBC- NCL candidates need to score at least 45%.


Age limit: The candidate mustn’t be more than 25 years of age on the day of commencement of classes.

B. Tech. in Food Processing Technology

The candidate must have passed 10+2 with Physics, Chemistry, Maths or Biology with minimum 50% aggregate marks.

B.E Mining Engineering

The candidate needs to have passed 10+2 or an equivalent exam with minimum 50% marks in Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics taken together. 5% relaxation applies to SC, ST and OBC- NCL candidates.


The candidate also needs to have scored minimum 50% marks in English in 10 or 10+2.

B.E. Marine Engineering

The candidate must have passed 10+2 or any equivalent exam with at least 60% aggregate marks in Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics. Minimum 50% marks in English is also mandatory


Age limit: The candidate needs to be below 25 years of age on the day of commencement of programme.


Medical Standard: The candidate should be physically fit to serve in the sea, with eyesight up to 6/12 in both eyes or 6/9 in better eye, 6/18 in other eye and with no colour blindness


AMET Entrance Exam M.E Eligibility Criteria

The candidate needs to hold a graduate degree in Naval Architecture, Ship Building, Petroleum, Marine Engineering, Mechanical, Civil, Aeronautical, Production & Industrial Engineering.

M. E. Petroleum Engineering

Undergraduate degree holders in Petroleum Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, M.Sc. Geology, M.Sc. Geophysics can apply.

M.E. Thermal & Fluid Engineering

The candidate needs to have passed B.E/B.Tech with minimum 60% marks in any of the following disciplines:


  • Mechanical Engineering

  • Automobile Engineering

  • Chemical Engineering

  • Aerospace Engineering

M.E. Power Systems

AMET Entrance Exam B.E Application Details

The authorities has released the application form of AMET 2022 in online and offline mode. To fill the AMET 2022 application form online, the candidates have to go to the application portal, get registered, fill in relevant details, upload scanned documents, pay the application fee and finally submit it. To submit AMET application in offline mode, the candidate  have to download it online. The candidate will have to fill the printed version of the application form and send it, along with essential documents, to the appropriate address such that it reaches the institute before last date. The step-wise AMET 2022 application filling process is described below.

How to fill Online application form of AMET 2022

  • Fill in name and surname 
  • Select course applied for admission (UG or UG Lateral Entry)
  • Personal details – the candidate has to next enter Aadhaar card number, date of birth, gender, blood group, religion, social status and nationality. The name of parents also have to be entered.
  • Contact details – fill in email id, mobile number, address of correspondence, permanent address, and local guardian details.
  • Academic details – In this section name of the examination board, registration number, etc. have to be entered.
  • Exam centre – Option can be selected from the drop-down menu.
  • Upload photograph – The uploaded photograph must be in the prescribed format only.
  • The candidate has to also enter a few other queries like whether they know about the fee structure, and how did they come to know about AMET University.
  • Agree to terms of the declaration form
  • And, finally submit the form

To fill the AMET 2022 form offline, the candidate have to:

1. Obtain it in person on cash payment of Rs. 1000 from designated locations. 

2. Download it online and take a printout. For downloaded applications, the candidate has the option to pay the application fee online or through offline (in the form of Demand Drafts). 

The hard-copy of the AMET 2022 application form should be filled in English language only using valid and correct data, or else it might be rejected. All sections of the application for – contact, academic, and communication details, etc. have to be properly filled in. The candidate also have to paste a passport size photograph in the space provided. The completed application form has to be finally sent by courier or post, along with relevant documents, to the following address:

The application form of AMET 2022 for M.E applicants will be available in both online and offline mode. When filling the application form, the candidate needs to ensure that all the essential fields are filled with correct and verifiable data; also completed applications must be submitted before the last date. The steps to fill the application form for M.E courses is explained below:
