BPSC 68th CCE 2022: Bihar Public Service Commission has started the registration process for BPSC 68th Combined Competitive Exam 2022. Candidates who want to apply for the 68th prelims examination can apply online through the official site of BPSC at bpsc.bih.nic.in. Eligible candidates can apply for the Preliminary examination on the official website onlinebpsc.bihar.gov.in till December 20. The BPSC recruitment drive aims to fill up a total of 281 vacancies, of which 77 posts are reserved for female candidates.

The last date to apply for the examination is till December 20, 2022. Candidates who want to apply for the exam should have graduation degree from a recognised institute or University. To apply for the examination mentioned above candidates can follow these simple steps given below.

BPSC 68th recruitment 2022: Application Fee

The applicants from unreserved category are required to pay the fee of Rs 600, whereas Rs 150 is applicable to reserved category candidates.

Recruitment is made by two methods : First is Direct recruitment and second is Promotional recruitment.

Direct Recruitment: Direct recruitment is made mainly by way of conducting competitive examination in which the selection is done on the basis of either of the following procedures.

   1. Among the candidates who score above the minimum qualifying marks, the final list of candidates selected for BPSC Mains will be prepared based on the number of vacancies

   2. After the Prelims Result is declared, the selected candidates have to fill and submit the application form for BPSC Mains.

BPSC Main Examination Pattern

The candidates are called for the BPSC main exam only if they qualify in the BPSC Prelims Exam and secure the required cut-off marks as decided by the Bihar Public Service Commission. Since, the BPSC Prelims Exam is qualifying in nature so it does not matter what one scores.

The pattern of the BPSC Main Exam has been changed too. Now, the BPSC Main Exam will have a qualifying paper General Hindi. Apart from this, there will be General Studies Paper 1 and General Studies Paper 2 carrying 300 marks each. There will be an Optional Paper that the candidate has chosen earlier while filling the Application Form. The Optional Paper carries 300 marks. • Candidates have to qualify in General Hindi.

• Questions of General Studies are available in Hindi and English both.

• The score will be arrived at by considering the total of 900 marks in GS Paper 1, GS Paper 2 and Optional Paper.

• The candidates who are placed suitably in the merit are called for the interview.

Facts about BPSC Mains

1. The duration of each paper in Mains will be of 3 hrs

2. The questions in the Mains exam will be of descriptive-essay type

3. Candidates can write the answers in one of the following languages depending on the stated preference in the application:

   1. Hindi

   2. Urdu

   3. English

4. The minimum qualifying marks in BPSC Mains are:

   1. General Category – 40%

   2. BC – 36.5%

   3. OBC – 34%

   4. Women/SC/ST/PwD – 32%

5. Candidates who clear the Mains stage will be called for an interview. As per the BPSC Exam Pattern, the interview will be of 120 marks

6. The final merit list will be made based on the candidates’ marks in Mains and Interview.

BPSC Optional Subjects

Candidates have to select one of the following 34 optional subjects:

Interview

The candidates who qualify the BPSC Main Exam are called for the final stage of the exam i.e. Interview. The interview carries 120 marks.

The final merit list will be prepared out of 1020 marks (900 for Mains + 120 for Interview). Interview judges the personality aspect of the candidates. The members of the Interview Board want to know the administrative aptitude and decision making ability of the candidates through interview. After the interviews, comes the final BPSC result.
