Uttar Pradesh Public Service Commission (UPPSC) released the notification and start the registration process for provincial civil servants (PCS) 2023. Candidates can apply online at the official website – uppsc.up.nic.in

As per the official notification, the last date to apply for the exam is April 6. A total of 173 administrative positions will be filled through this recruitment process.

उत्तर प्रदेश लोक सेवा आयोग (यूपीपीएससी) की ओर से राज्य सम्मिलित राज्य/प्रवर अधीनस्थ सेवा (पीसीएस) 2023 का विस्तृत भर्ती विज्ञापन आज आयोग की वेबसाइट uppsc.up.ni.in पर जारी कर दिया गया। यूपीपीसीएस प्रारंभिक परीक्षा 2023 के लिए अभ्यर्थी अब आयोग की वेबसाइट पर आवेदन कर सकते हैं। लोक सेवा आयोग की ओर से एक दिन पहले जारी सूचना के अनुसार, पीसीएस प्रारंभिक परीक्षा 2023 के लिए ऑनलाइन आवेदन 03 मार्च 2023 से शुरू होंगे और आवेदन की अंतिम तिथि 6 अप्रैल 2023 निर्धारित है। 

The posts include Sub Registrar, Assistant Labour Commissioner, Assistant Controller legal Measurement (Grade-II), Technical Assistant (Geology), Law Officer, Technical Assistant (Geophysics), Tax Assessment Officer, g. Dy. Superintendent of Police, Superintendent of Jail, District Commandant Home Guards, Excise Inspector and Deputy Jailor.

UPPSC PCS 2023 registration: How to apply 

Step 1: Visit the official website — uppsc.up.nic.in

Step 3: Once redirected, click on apply, then click on registration

Step 4: If you are applying for the first time, you will have to enter your basic details such as name, parents’ names and more.

Step 5: Once registration is complete, fill the application form by entering your registration number and uploading necessary documents

Educational Qualifications for UP PCS

For the posts included in the Combined State/Upper Subordinate Services Examination, the candidates must possess Bachelors Degree of any recognised University or equivalent qualification up to the last date for receipt of application.

UPPSC PCS 2023: Eligibility criteria

Educational qualification: Candidates who possess a bachelors degree in any discipline from any recognised university or institution are eligible to apply.

Age limit: Applicants age should not be more than 40 years old as of July 1, 2023.

UPPSC 2023 Selection Procedure

The UPPSC prelims and mains exam for UP PCS 2023 will be conducted offline across the state. The UPPSC 2023 PCS selection procedure has 3 stages:

(1) Preliminary Examination (Objective Type & Multiple choice)

(2) Main Examination (Objective / Conventional Type)

(3) Interview (Personality Test)

The UPPCS exam is conducted for the recruitment of various positions such as Deputy Collector, Deputy Superintendent of Police, Block Development Officer, Assistant Regional Transport Officer, and many more.

The syllabus for the UPPCS exam varies for different positions and tiers of the examination. However, it generally covers topics related to Indian polity, history, economy, geography, environment, science and technology, current affairs, and general knowledge.

To prepare for the UPPCS exam, candidates should start by understanding the exam pattern and syllabus. They should then create a study plan and devote sufficient time to each subject. Candidates should also practice previous years question papers and take mock tests to assess their preparation and identify areas of improvement.

Overall, the UPPCS exam is a competitive exam, and candidates need to work hard and stay focused to crack it.

Preliminary Exam Pattern

The Preliminary examination will consist of two compulsory papers of which answer sheet be onOMR sheets. The syllabus is mentioned in Appendix-5 of this advertisement. The papers shall be 200 marks each and of two hours durations.

Both the papers shall be objective Type & multiple choicein which there shall be 150-100 questions Respectively.

The timing of paper I will be from 9.30 to11.30 A.M. and paper II from 2.30 to 4.30 P.M.

Note : (1) Paper-II of the Preliminary Examination will be a qualifying paper with minimum qualifying marks fixed at 33%. (2) It is mandatory for the Candidates to appear in both thepapers of Preliminary Examination for the purpose of evaluation. Therefore a candidate willbe disqualified in case he does not appear in both in papers.

(3) The merit of the Candidateswill be determined on the basis of marks obtained in Paper-I of the Preliminary Examination.

UPPCS Main Exam Pattern & Syllabus (Revised on 24.04.2018 and re-revised in 2023)

कुल परीक्षा 1600 अंकों की होगी, जिसमें 1500 अंक की लिखित परीक्षा होगी। हिंदी और निबंध के 150-150 अंक रहेंगे, जबकि सामान्य अध्ययन के 200-200 अंक के दो प्रश्नपत्रों की जगह अब 200-200 अंक के चार प्रश्न पत्र होंगे। सिद्धार्थनाथ ने बताया कि वैकल्पिक विषय में अब चिकित्सा विज्ञान को भी जोड़ा जाएगा।

(A) COMPULSORY SUBJECTS

1. Gereral Hindi : 150 marks

3. General Studies (I - Paper) : 200 marks = Total 20 Questions (10 long 250 words & 10 short in 125 words)

उत्तर प्रदेश सरकार की तरफ से सम्मिलित राज्य/प्रवर अधीनस्थ सेवा (पीसीएस) की मेंस परीक्षा से ऑप्शनल सब्जेक्ट की अनिवार्यता को समाप्त कर दिया गया है. वहीं, इस परीक्षा की जगह अब सरकार उत्तर प्रदेश से जुड़े जनरल नॉलेज के प्रश्नपत्रों को मेंस परीक्षा में शामिल करेगी.

मुख्यमंत्री योगी आदित्यनाथ की अध्यक्षता में 22.02.2023 को हुई कैबिनेट की बैठक में इस प्रस्ताव को मंजूरी दी गई है. इसके लिए कार्मिक विभाग के प्रस्ताव सम्मिलित राज्य प्रवर अधीनस्थ सेवा मुख्य परीक्षा व परीक्षा योजना पाठ्यक्रम में संशोधन संबंधी प्रस्ताव को पास भी कर दिया गया है. वहीं अब स्केलिंग को लेकर काफी समय से चल रहा विवाद भी खत्म हो जाएगा.

दरअसल, सम्मिलित राज्य/प्रवर अधीनस्थ सेवा (पीसीएस) की मुख्य परीक्षा में वैकल्पिक विषय की अनिवार्यता थी. ऐसे में अक्सर मेंस परीक्षा में साइंस विषय के अभ्यर्थियों को आर्ट्स विषय के अभ्यर्थियों से अधिक अंक मिल जाते थे और फिर स्केलिंग के नाम पर अंक को घटाया बढ़ाया जाने के कारण किसी को फायदा तो किसी को नुकसान उठाना पड़ता था.

स्केलिंग के चलते ही यूपी में अन्य राज्यों के अभ्यर्थियों के चयन होने की शिकायतें भी आ रही थी. इसलिए पीसीएस के मेंस परीक्षा से ऑप्शनल सब्जेक्ट को हटाए जाने की मांग तेज हो रही थी. इसी को देखते हुए उत्तर प्रदेश लोक सेवा आयोग ने ऑप्शनल सब्जेक्ट को हटाए के संबंध में शासन को प्रस्ताव भेजा था. इसी प्रस्ताव के आधार पर इसे कैबिनेट द्वारा मंजूर कराया गया है.

Compulsory Subject viz: All Papers Shall be Conventional type and for solving the questions three hours time is allowed. Two hundred maximum marks has been allotted for each General Studies question paper.

Note :

1. Timing of examination paper of 3 hours i.e. 9.30 am to 12.30 pm & 2 pm to 5 pm.

2. A candidate shall be required to obtain such minimum marks in the paper of General Hindi, as may be determined by the Government or the Commission, as the case may be.

(B) PERSONALITY TEST (VIVA-VOCE) TOTAL MARKS 100 The test will relate to the matter of general interest keeping the matter of academic interest in view and for general awareness, intelligence, character, expression power/personality and general suitability for the service.
