SSC JE junior Engineer Exam 2019

SSC JE 2019-20 recruitment notification has been released by SSC on 13th August 2019. The Online Registration for SSC JE 2019-20 has also started from 13th August 2019 and the last date to apply online is 12th September 2019.

The exam dates for SSC JE 2019-20 has been released by SSC along with its Official Calender 2019-20. SC JE 2018-19, 2019-20 Exam Dates are mentioned below. All students are required to visit this page regularly to get updates about SSC JE 2018-19 & SSC JE 2019-20 Exam.

Staff Selection Commission (SSC) Junior Engineers (Civil, Mechanical, Electrical, Quantity Surveying and Contract) Examination required following eligibility conditions….

Eligibility Conditions:

 1.Nationality/Citizenship: A candidate must be either:
(a) a citizen of India, or
(b) a subject of Nepal, or
(c) a subject of Bhutan, or
(d) a Tibetan refugee who came over to India before the 1st January 1962 with the intention of permanently settling in India, or
(e) a person of Indian origin who has migrated from Pakistan, Burma, Sri Lanka, East African countries of Kenya, Uganda, the United Republic of Tanzania(Formerly Tanganyika and Zanzibar), Zambia, Malawi, Zaire, Ethiopia and Vietnam with the intention of permanently settling in India.
Provided that a candidate belonging to categories (b), (c), (d) and (e) above shall be a person in whose favour a certificate of eligibility has been issued by the Government of India.

2. Age Limit: (i) Not exceeding 30 years for Junior Engineer (Civil) and Junior Engineer (Electrical & Mechanical) in MES, Farakka Barrage Project, Border Road Organization, Central Water and Power Research Station, Directorate of Quality Assurance (Naval) & NTRO
(ii) Upto 32 years for Junior Engineers (Civil & Mechanical) in CWC and CPWD

Permissible relaxation of upper age limit as per government orders are as indicated below:

Note-I: Candidates who have not acquired/will not acquire the educational qualification will not be eligible and need not apply.

Note-II: ExS who have done various courses from Armed Forces which are certified by competent Authority to be equivalent to Diploma in Civil/ Mechanical/ Electrical Engineering are eligible to appear in the Examination.

Selection procedure

The examination will be conducted in two stages:

 A.Written Test (500 marks)

 B.Interview (100 marks)

A. Written Test:  Written test will consists of two papers viz Paper -I and Paper-II. Part I will be Objective type questions for 200 marks and Paper II will have Conventional type questions for 300 marks. Time duration for each paper will be 2 hours. Answer- sheets of Paper-II (Conventional Type) will be evaluated in respect of only those candidates who qualify in Paper-I at the standard as decided/fixed by the Commission at its discretion. There will be negative marking of 0.25 marks for each wrong answer in Paper-I.

Written test will consists of two papers viz Paper -I and Paper-II. Paper-I will consist of Objective Type Multiple Choice questions only and Paper-II will be Conventional Type questions . There will be negative marking of 0.25 marks for each wrong answer in Paper-I.

Note I:  Paper -I and Paper-III for General Engineering, the candidate will be required to attempt only one part i.e. Part-A or Part-B or Part-C as per option given in the application form by the candidate.e. In other words, the candidates appearing for the post of Junior Engineer (Civil), Junior Engineer(Quantity Surveying & Contract) should attempt Part A (Civil & Structural) of Paper-I and Paper-II and the candidates appearing for the post of Junior Engineer (Electrical) should attempt Part-B (Electrical) and the candidates appearing for the post of Junior Engineer (Mechanical) should attempt Part C (Mechanical) of Paper-I and Paper II failing which he/she would be awarded zero marks.

Note-II:  Candidates are allowed to bring their own Slide–Rule, Non Programmable Calculator, Logarithm Tables and Steam Table for Paper-II only. They are not allowed to use such aids for Paper-I.

B. Personality Test (Interview): Only those candidates who secure at least the minimum qualifying marks in the written examination as may be fixed by the Commission at its discretion, will be eligible to appear in the Interview. Interview will be conducted for 100 Marks. Candidates who qualify for Interview will be recommended for appointment by the Commission on the basis of total marks in the Written Examination and Interview.

C. Resolution of Tie Cases: In cases where more than one candidate secure the equal aggregates marks, tie will be resolved by applying the following methods one after another:-
(i) Total marks in written examination.
(ii) Marks in Paper-II.
(iii) Marks in Paper-I.
(iv) Date of birth, with older candidates placed higher.
(v) Alphabetical order in the first names of the candidates appear

Note-I: The Commission may, its discretion fix minimum qualifying standards in interview

The Examination will comprise of a Computer Based Examination for Paper-I and written examination for Paper-II Online Exam Question paper pattern for SSC JE Junior Engineer Examination Written examination will comprise two question papers.

Paper 1 will be objective type and paper 2 will be conventional type. Question of paper 1 will be related to general intelligence, reasoning, General awareness and general engineering subject.

Question paper 2 will be related from general engineering subject.  Paper 1 will carry 200 marks and paper 2 will carry 300 marks

Negative Marking / Minus marking applicable 0.25 marks will be deducted for each incorrect answer.

Each candidate are required to attempt only one part of general engineering in paper 1 and paper 2 for which you have filled the application form.

In Paper-I and Paper-II for General Engineering, the candidate will be required to attempt only one part i.e. Part-A or Part-B or Part-C as per option given in the application form by the candidate. In other words, the candidates appearing for the post of Junior Engineer (Civil), Junior Engineer (Quantity Surveying & Contract) should attempt Part A (Civil & Structural) of Paper-I and Paper-II and the candidates appearing for the post of Junior Engineer (Electrical) should attempt Part-B (Electrical) and the candidates appearing for the post of Junior Engineer (Mechanical) should attempt Part C (Mechanical) of Paper-I and Paper-II failing which he/she would be awarded ZERO marks.

Syllabus: The standard of the questions in Engineering subjects will be approximately of the level of Diploma in Engineering (Civil/ Electrical/ Mechanical) from a recognized Institute, Board or University recognized by All India Board of Technical Education. All the questions will be set in SI units. The details of the syllabus are given below:

Paper-I: Paper I will consists of General Intelligence & Reasoning, General Awareness, General Engineering (Civil and Structural), (Electrical & Mechanical).

Paper-II: Paper II consists of Civil & Structural Engineering , Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Thermal Engineering, Fluid Mechanics & Machinery and Production Engineering.
