UPSC Assistant Labour Welfare Commissioner Exam Pattern and Question papers and Study Notes Available

Total Vacancies : Twenty-nine vacancies (29) for the post of Junior Time Scale (JTS) Grade of Central Labour Service (Group ‘A’ Organized Service) consisting of the posts of Assistant Labour Commissioner (Central)/ Assistant Welfare Commissioner (Central)/ Assistant Labour Welfare Commissioner (Central)/ Assistant Director, Ministry of Labour & Employment (SC-05, ST-01, OBC-04, EWS-02, UR-17) (PwBD-02). Of the twenty-nine vacancies, two vacancies are reserved for candidates belonging to category of Persons with Benchmark Disability (PwBD). Of the two vacancies, one vacancy is reserved for candidates belonging to category of Persons with Benchmark Disability (PwBD) viz. Deaf and Hard of Hearing with disability i.e. Deaf (D) (provided he/she is able to discharge his duties with hearing aid) or Hard of Hearing (HH) and one vacancy is reserved for candidates belonging to category of Persons with Benchmark Disability (PwBD) viz. Multiple disabilities (MD) i.e. at least two disabilities from the sub-categories of the disabilities viz. Blind(B)/Low Vision(LV)/Deaf(D) (provided he/she is able to discharge his duties with hearing aid)/ Hard of Hearing (HH)/Both legs affected but not arms (BL)/One leg affected (R or L) (OL)/ One arm affected (R or L) (OA)/Cerebral Palsy (CP)/Leprosy Cured (LC)/Dwarfism(DW)/Acid Attack Victims (AAV)/Muscular Dystrophy (MDy) including deafblindness. ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS: EDUCATIONAL: (i) Degree of a recognized University, (ii) Diploma in Social Work or Labour Welfare or Industrial Relations or Personnel Management or Labour Law from a recognized University or Institution. DESIRABLE: Degree in Law from recognized university. NOTE: The Qualifications are relaxable at the discretion of the Union Public Service Commission, for reasons to be recorded in writing, in the case of candidates otherwise well qualified. DUTIES: The CLS Officers discharge statutory functions in the Central Sphere under various Labour enactments. Their main function includes prevention and settlement of Industrial disputes, enforcement of various Labour Laws and to establish harmonious relation between workers and management. These Officers are notified as Inspectors, Conciliation Officers and Appellate Authorities under the various Acts. HQ: New Delhi.
