The Telangana State Teacher Eligibility Test (TS TET) is a state-level examination conducted by the Department of School Education, Government of Telangana, to assess the eligibility of candidates aspiring to become teachers for Classes I to VIII in the state's schools. Notification: The official notification for TS TET 2024 was released on November 7, 2024. The application window was open from November 7 to November 20, 2024. Candidates are advised to regularly check the official website (tstet.cgg.gov.in) for the latest updates and future notifications.

Eligibility Criteria:

  • Educational Qualifications:
    • For Paper I (Classes I to V):
      • Senior Secondary (or equivalent) with at least 50% marks and passed or appearing in the final year of a 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education (D.El.Ed).
      • Senior Secondary (or equivalent) with at least 45% marks and passed or appearing in the final year of a 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education, in accordance with NCTE regulations.
      • Senior Secondary (or equivalent) with at least 50% marks and passed or appearing in the final year of a 4-year Bachelor of Elementary Education (B.El.Ed).
      • Graduation and passed or appearing in the final year of a 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education.
    • For Paper II (Classes VI to VIII):
      • Graduation and passed or appearing in the final year of a 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education.
      • Graduation with at least 50% marks and passed or appearing in a 1-year Bachelor in Education (B.Ed).
      • Senior Secondary (or equivalent) with at least 50% marks and passed or appearing in the final year of a 4-year Bachelor in Elementary Education (B.El.Ed) or B.A.Ed/B.Sc.Ed.
      • Graduation with at least 50% marks and passed or appearing in a 1-year B.Ed (Special Education).
  • Age Limit:
    • Candidates must be at least 18 years old. There is no upper age limit for TS TET.

TS TET Previous Year Question Papers

Selection Procedure: The selection process involves a written examination comprising two papers:

  1. Paper I: For candidates aspiring to teach Classes I to V.
  2. Paper II: For candidates aspiring to teach Classes VI to VIII.

Candidates aiming to teach Classes I to VIII must appear for both papers. Qualifying TS TET is mandatory for appointment as a teacher in Telangana; however, it does not guarantee employment.
Exam Pattern:
Both Paper I and Paper II consist of 150 multiple-choice questions (MCQs), each carrying one mark. The duration for each paper is 2 hours and 30 minutes. There is no negative marking.
