Eligibility Criteria:
- Educational Qualifications:
- For Primary Level Teachers (Classes 1-5):
- Senior Secondary (or equivalent) with at least 50% marks and a two-year Diploma in Elementary Education (D.El.Ed) or its equivalent.
- Senior Secondary (or equivalent) with at least 45% marks and a two-year Diploma in Elementary Education as per NCTE regulations.
- Senior Secondary (or equivalent) with at least 50% marks and a four-year Bachelor of Elementary Education (B.El.Ed).
- Senior Secondary (or equivalent) with at least 50% marks and a two-year Diploma in Special Education.
- Graduation with a two-year Diploma in Elementary Education or its equivalent.
- For Upper Primary Level Teachers (Classes 6-8):
- Graduation with at least 50% marks and a one-year Bachelor in Education (B.Ed).
- Graduation with at least 45% marks and a one-year B.Ed as per NCTE regulations.
- Senior Secondary (or equivalent) with at least 50% marks and a four-year B.A.Ed/B.Sc.Ed or B.A/B.Sc.Ed.
- Graduation with at least 50% marks and a one-year B.Ed (Special Education).
- Age Limit:
- Minimum Age: 21 years as of January 1, 2024.
- There is no specified upper age limit for the examination.

Selection Procedure:
The selection process for MP TET involves a written examination. Candidates who score at least 60% marks (50% for SC/ST/OBC/PWD candidates) are considered qualified. Qualifying the MP TET is mandatory for appointment as a teacher in Madhya Pradesh, but it does not guarantee employment.
Exam Pattern:
The MP TET examination consists of two papers:
- Paper I: For candidates aspiring to teach Classes 1-5.
- Paper II: For candidates aspiring to teach Classes 6-8.
Both papers consist of 150 multiple-choice questions (MCQs), each carrying one mark. The duration for each paper is 2.5 hours. There is no negative marking.
