Eligibility Criteria:
The eligibility criteria for KTET vary based on the category for which the candidate is applying:

Category I (Lower Primary Classes: I-V):
- Higher Secondary/Senior Secondary (or equivalent) with at least 45% marks and a two-year Trained Teachers’ Certificate (TTC) conducted by the Board of Examination, Government of Kerala, or its equivalent.

Category II (Upper Primary Classes: VI-VIII):
- B.A./B.Sc./B.Com. degree with at least 45% marks and a B.Ed. in the relevant subject from a recognized university.

Category III (High School Classes: IX-X):
- M.Sc. Ed. in the relevant subject with at least 50% marks from one of the Regional Institutes of Education sponsored by NCERT.

Category IV (Language Teachers up to Upper Primary Level, Specialist Teachers, and Physical Education Teachers):

Selection Procedure:
The selection process involves a written examination specific to each category. Candidates must secure the minimum qualifying marks to be considered eligible. Qualifying the KTET is mandatory for appointment as a teacher in Kerala; however, it does not guarantee employment.
Exam Pattern:
The KTET examination comprises four categories, each with its own exam pattern:

- 150 multiple-choice questions (MCQs), each carrying one mark.
- Duration: 2 hours and 30 minutes.
