Notification: The official notification for HTET 2024 was released on November 1, 2024. The application process commenced on November 4, 2024, and concluded on November 15, 2024. The examination was initially scheduled for December 7 and 8, 2024, but has been postponed until further notice. Candidates are advised to regularly check the official BSEH website (bseh.org.in) for updates on new exam dates and other pertinent information.
Eligibility Criteria: HTET is conducted for three levels, each with specific eligibility requirements:
- Level 1 (Primary Teacher for Classes I-V):
- Senior Secondary (or equivalent) with at least 50% marks and passed or appearing in the final year of a 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education (D.El.Ed).
- Senior Secondary (or equivalent) with at least 45% marks and passed or appearing in the final year of a 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education, in accordance with NCTE regulations.
- Senior Secondary (or equivalent) with at least 50% marks and passed or appearing in the final year of a 4-year Bachelor of Elementary Education (B.El.Ed).
- Graduation and passed or appearing in the final year of a 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education.
- Level 2 (Trained Graduate Teacher for Classes VI-VIII):
- Graduation and passed or appearing in the final year of a 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education.
- Graduation with at least 50% marks and passed or appearing in a 1-year Bachelor in Education (B.Ed).
- Senior Secondary (or equivalent) with at least 50% marks and passed or appearing in the final year of a 4-year Bachelor in Elementary Education (B.El.Ed) or B.A.Ed/B.Sc.Ed.
- Graduation with at least 50% marks and passed or appearing in a 1-year B.Ed (Special Education).
- Level 3 (Post Graduate Teacher for Classes IX-XII):
- Post-Graduation in the concerned subject with at least 50% marks and a B.Ed. degree.

Selection Procedure:
The selection process involves a written examination specific to each level:
- Level 1 (Primary Teacher): For candidates aspiring to teach Classes I to V.
- Level 2 (Trained Graduate Teacher): For candidates aspiring to teach Classes VI to VIII.
- Level 3 (Post Graduate Teacher): For candidates aspiring to teach Classes IX to XII.
Candidates must secure the minimum qualifying marks to be considered eligible. Qualifying HTET is mandatory for appointment as a teacher in Haryana; however, it does not guarantee employment.
Exam Pattern:
Each level of HTET consists of 150 multiple-choice questions (MCQs), each carrying one mark. The duration for each paper is 2 hours and 30 minutes. There is no negative marking for incorrect answers.
