The Chhattisgarh Teacher Eligibility Test (CG TET) is a state-level examination conducted by the Chhattisgarh Professional Examination Board (CGPEB) to assess the eligibility of candidates aspiring to teach at primary (Classes I-V) and upper primary (Classes VI-VIII) levels in government schools across Chhattisgarh. Notification:
The official notification for CG TET 2024 was released on March 7, 2024. The application process commenced on March 7, 2024, and concluded on April 7, 2024. The examination was held on June 23, 2024. Candidates are advised to regularly check the official CGPEB website (vyapam.cgstate.gov.in) for updates on future notifications and schedules.

Eligibility Criteria: CG TET comprises two papers, each catering to different teaching levels, with specific eligibility requirements:

  • Paper I (Primary Level: Classes I-V):
    • Senior Secondary (or equivalent) with at least 50% marks and passed or appearing in the final year of a 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education (D.El.Ed).
    • Senior Secondary (or equivalent) with at least 45% marks and passed or appearing in the final year of a 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education, in accordance with NCTE regulations.
    • Senior Secondary (or equivalent) with at least 50% marks and passed or appearing in the final year of a 4-year Bachelor of Elementary Education (B.El.Ed).
    • Graduation and passed or appearing in the final year of a 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education.
  • Paper II (Upper Primary Level: Classes VI-VIII):
    • Graduation and passed or appearing in the final year of a 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education.
    • Graduation with at least 50% marks and passed or appearing in a 1-year Bachelor in Education (B.Ed).
    • Senior Secondary (or equivalent) with at least 50% marks and passed or appearing in the final year of a 4-year Bachelor in Elementary Education (B.El.Ed) or B.A.Ed/B.Sc.Ed.
    • Graduation with at least 50% marks and passed or appearing in a 1-year B.Ed (Special Education).

CG TET Previous Year Question Papers

Selection Procedure: The selection process involves a written examination comprising two papers:

  1. Paper I: For candidates aspiring to teach Classes I to V.
  2. Paper II: For candidates aspiring to teach Classes VI to VIII.

Candidates aiming to teach Classes I to VIII must appear for both papers. Qualifying CG TET is mandatory for appointment as a teacher in Chhattisgarh; however, it does not guarantee employment.
Exam Pattern:
Both Paper I and Paper II consist of 150 multiple-choice questions (MCQs), each carrying one mark. The duration for each paper is 2 hours and 30 minutes. There is no negative marking for incorrect answers.
