Eligibility Criteria: Bihar STET comprises two papers, each catering to different teaching levels, with specific eligibility requirements:
- Paper I (Secondary Level: Classes 9-10):
- Educational Qualification:
- Bachelor's degree in the relevant subject with at least 50% marks from a recognized university.
- Bachelor of Education (B.Ed) or equivalent qualification.
- Age Limit:
- Minimum age of 21 years.
- Upper age limit varies by category:
- General: 37 years
- General (Female), OBC, EBC: 40 years
- SC/ST: 42 years
- PWD: Additional relaxation of 10 years
- Ex-Servicemen: Additional relaxation of 3 years plus years of service, up to a maximum age of 57 years
- Age relaxation is applicable for reserved categories as per Bihar government norms.
- Paper II (Higher Secondary Level: Classes 11-12):

Selection Procedure: The selection process for Bihar STET involves a single stage:
- Computer-Based Test (CBT):
- Objective-type multiple-choice questions.
- No negative marking for incorrect answers.
- Candidates scoring above the minimum qualifying marks set by the exam authority will be declared qualified.
- Successful candidates will receive a STET certificate, which holds lifetime validity.
Exam Pattern:
Both Paper I and Paper II consist of 150 multiple-choice questions (MCQs), each carrying one mark. The duration for each paper is 2 hours and 30 minutes. There is no negative marking for incorrect answers.
