UPTET is called Uttar Pradesh Teacher Eligibility Test. It is an entrance exam conducted by the Uttar Pradesh Basic Education Board for candidates who wish to become teachers in government schools in Uttar Pradesh. The exam is conducted at two levels: Primary Level (for teachers of classes I-V) and Upper Primary Level (for teachers of classes VI-VIII). The exam consists of two papers: Paper 1 for Primary Level and Paper 2 for Upper Primary Level. Paper 1 consists of five sections, including Child Development and Pedagogy, Language I (Hindi), Language II (English/Urdu/Sanskrit), Mathematics, and Environmental Studies. Paper 2 also consists of five sections, including Child Development and Pedagogy, Language I (Hindi), Language II (English/Urdu/Sanskrit), Mathematics and Science, and Social Studies. To be eligible for UPTET, candidates must have a Bachelor's degree in Education (B.Ed) or have completed their two-year diploma in elementary education (D.El.Ed) and must have qualified the exam. The UPTET certificate is valid for five years from the date of issue, and candidates can apply for teaching jobs in Uttar Pradesh government schools based on this certificate. It is important to note that meeting the eligibility criteria is necessary to appear for the UPTET exam. Candidates who do not meet the eligibility criteria will not be allowed to appear for the exam.
